I check my ebay gift card balance and its back to the original amount as in the money was refunded by paypal to my ebay gift card and my paypal account is in the negative ! I call paypal they say its not thier problem and ebay cards are known not work, which is pretty obvous by reading this set of complaints here that its a common occurence . The next day which was about a week later after my orginal ebay gift card purchase i get emails from ebay and paypal saying all my transactions were cancelled and one from paypal saying my account is in the negative ! Negative for the patches id already recieved and were paid for by the card. So i have faith the card was working and purchase a few more patches and a pair of shoes. So at first it worked i purchased a couple Disney patches, they were actually sent to me and both the seller and myself left positive feedback for each other. Of course i entered the number in the apply gift card section which then tells you to select paypal as your payment method. I'm now getting the same issue with an ebay gift card, of course i scratched the number how else would you use it, because there is no other way to use it. **bleep** had same issue my card ain't wrote: I was afraid I would not get my item, so I paid using another method, but I am NOT interested in losing $100. This time it told me that they were having technical difficulties processing my redemption code. I went back to trying to pay the "regular" way, and got a variation on the error message that I received yesterday. I had specifically asked him if I could use the gift cards when paying via a direct PayPal invoice. SOOO not worth all of this aggravation.įollowed the process given to me by a PayPal supervisor. I bought the stupid things to get points from my grocery store to use for gasoline. All I know for sure is that my gift cards are real. So now the Seller will truly think I am a lunatic - and after all of this, he/she may well be right. Someone please just shoot me, it would be much more humane. He said I would have to give the Seller my email address - BUT when you try to do that, Ebay stops the message from going through because "for my safety", they won't allow you to include email addresses. He told me to ask the Seller to send me a PayPal invoice so I could use the gift cards directly on PayPal's site. Finally, after I kept pushing the last guy (who was supposedly a supervisor), he said there is a known issue with ebay gift cards and that it's been going on for quite a while.

The third said her IT people said they are doing an update and to the system and that I should wait 4 hours. The next one totally blew me off and transferred me back to the first group. WTH? ONe person said wait 4 hours and try again because my card was probably too new. I talked to FOUR people, and not one of them would even take a gift card number to look up. They fixed him up, but I had no such luck. One said to call PayPal, and try to get a supervisor, and that in his case they could see that his cards were acting like they were redeemed, but they weren't.
Looked online to see if others had the same issue, and found many who did. I called the number on the back of the cards, but couldn't even get a human. I have a PayPal account that is valid, so it is not that. They are new, have never been used and I have a receipt for them. I have four valid ebay gift cards, totalling $100.00.
